Esther Peña is a researcher and Responsible in Confocal Microscopy of the Catalan Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (ICCC) from February of 2004. Graduate in Biology by the Universitat de Barcelona (1982-1987), master in Bioingeniería per la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (BEHSPIC) (1986-1988) and PhD at the Universitat de Barcelona. She is expert in spectral confocal microscopy and techniques in immunohistochemistry, in the cardiovascular field. Its line of investigation always has been centred in the study of the cardiovascular system as much in the field of arteriosclerosis like in the one of the thrombosis.
